Melbourne might be the coffee capital of the universe, but health guru Lola Berry reckons we’re even better at the fine art of tea drinking.
Australia’s most colourful nutritionist loves popping out for a spot of tea, and these are her top five places to do it in Melbourne.
48 Smith St, Collingwood, 9415 9593
This is my favourite tea spot in Melbourne. They have so many options, from rooibos to detox combos. but the vibe is super chilled and grounding. It’s a perfect place to meet a mate or even sit down for a quick business meeting.

These guys know how to make the perfect green tea. They have loads of other tea options, but their green tea is amazing, and it’s not over heated. When your tea is burnt by super hot water, it’s not fun. Things quickly can go very bitter.
202 Carlisle St, Balaclava, 9534 7250
Every tea I’ve had here has been a magic experience. Even the tea pots are quirky. It’s worth visiting just to experience this cute space. There are six different green teas, each with their own specific flavour.
170 Union Rd, Ascot Vale, 9375 4777
If you’re into soy chai then you have to make a visit here. It’s got a quirky feel and if you feel like a little sweet treat to go with your chai they have loads of pick from, all vegan. There are also lots of gluten-free options. Warning, you might get a little addicted.
5. ST.ALi North
We’ve all heard about St Ali in South Melbourne. Now they’re rocking the north side of town. The food is amazing, but the teas are spot on. It’s a perfect stop-off on a bike ride, as it’s right on the Capital City Trail. And just like St Ali South, there’s such an awesome feel – good music and the perfect amount of quirk (see picture above). I go the lemon and ginger tea every time.
