Scott Pickett’s top five
places to dine in Northcote

Where does one of Northcote’s hottest chefs go out for a meal? You’d think Scott Pickett would look further afield after a long shift behind the stoves, but when Estelle‘s part-owner knocks off he prefers to stay local with his family.

Scott (formerly at Albert Park’s two-hatted The Point) and fellow chef Ryan Flaherty (who cooked at the acclaimed el Bulli n Spain, along with Heston Blumenthal’s Fat Duck in London) have a loyal and growing fan base at their High St diner.

But Scott can’t always eat at the “office”, despite the tasty food. These are his top five places in Northcote.

1. Cafe Bedda

I have been going to Cafe Bedda for years. It’s always great to drop in for a quick bowl of pasta with the kids. It’s great Silician food served with a smile.

2. Merricote

The Merricote is just down the road from home and work. It’s my favourite place to eat locally when I’m not at work. It’s run by lovely owner operators Rob and Bronwyn Kabboord.
81 High St, Northcote, 9939 4762

3. Northcote Social Club

After a long hard day, there’s nowhere better than the “Social” for cold beer and live music. It’s the epitome of northcote cool.

4. Pizza Mien Liebe

My little hideaway for an authentic pizza, Pizza Mien Liebe always satisfies my pizza cravings.
231 High St, Northcote, 9482 7001

5. Two by Two

A soon-to-be opened cafe/restaurant four doors up from our restaurant. I’m looking forward to having somewhere close for breakfast and that early morning coffee!
